The ew 512P G4 Pro Camera Wireless Bodypack System with MKE-2 Gold Lavalier Microphone from Sennheiser is the latest addition to the evolution family of wireless microphone systems. This package includes the EK 500 G4 camera-mount receiver, SK 500 G4 bodypack transmitter, and a MKE 2 Gold clip-on microphone. Accessories include a fur windscreen, CA 2 camera mount, 1/8 to 1/8" cable, 1/8" to XLR cable, and four AA alkaline batteries. The wireless system can be used to capture audio for live sound, ENG, broadcast and film, business, and educational applications.

The receiver is menu-driven with a backlit LCD display showing the current frequency, frequency band and channel number, metering of RF level, lock status, battery status, muting function or line output level, and pilot tone evaluation. An auto-lock feature prevents settings from being accidentally altered. The companion bodypack transmitter is synchronized with the bodypack receiver via an integrated infrared interface and is programmable in the transmitter backlit LCD display.

The ew 512P G4 Pro system features an 88MHz bandwith (72MHz on GBW model) with up to 2880 selectable frequencies (72MHz bandwidth on the GBW model) and is tunable in 25 kHz steps with 20 fixed-frequency banks, and up to 32 compatible frequency presets. Power is supplied to the receiver and transmitter by four 1.5V AA size batteries—two for the receiver and two for the transmitter—or by a Sennheiser BA 2015 rechargeable accupack for each unit. Finally, enclosed in a rugged metal housing, the transmitter and receiver will run about 8 hours.

The bodypack transmitter features 2000 frequencies that are tunable in 25 kHz steps, 20 fixed frequency banks, 32 compatible frequency presets, and 6 user banks with up to 32 user programmable frequencies. The transmitter's menu-driven backlit LCD display shows the current frequency, frequency bank and channel number, metering of AF level, lock status, transmission status, muting function, battery status, and more.

In addition, the operating range is about 330'/100m. This transmitter incorporates a Sennheiser HDX compander system, a defeatable pilot tone squelch, and is equipped with a frequency range from 80 Hz to 18 kHz. Finally, power is supplied by the two included 1.5V AA sized batteries, or by one optional Sennheiser BA 2015 rechargeable accupack. A travel pouch is also included.
